Equipment

  • Medium saucepan
  • Whisk or spoon for stirring
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter 2 sticks
  • 6 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper optional, for heat
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp hot sauce optional
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Melt the Butter:

  • In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter until fully melted and bubbling slightly.

Add the Garlic:

  • Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, but not browned.

Add the Seasonings:

  • Stir in the Cajun seasoning, Old Bay seasoning, paprika, and cayenne pepper (if using). Cook for another minute to allow the spices to blend with the butter.

Finish the Sauce:

  • Add the lemon juice and hot sauce (if using) to the butter mixture. Stir well and taste, adjusting seasoning with salt, pepper, or more hot sauce if desired.

Serve:

  • Remove the sauce from the heat and stir in the fresh parsley (if using). Drizzle the sauce over your seafood boil or serve it in a bowl for dipping.
