Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 head green cabbage thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 small onion sliced
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce or tamari for gluten-free
  • 1 tsp sesame oil optional, for flavor
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes optional, for heat
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Green onions and sesame seeds optional, for garnish

Instructions
 

Prepare the Chicken:

  • Thinly slice the chicken breasts and season them with salt and pepper.

Cook the Chicken:

  • Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced chicken and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

Cook the Vegetables:

  • In the same skillet, heat the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Add the garlic, onion, and red pepper flakes (if using), and sauté for 2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Add the cabbage and stir-fry for 5-6 minutes, until the cabbage is tender but still crisp.

Combine and Season:

  • Return the cooked chicken to the skillet with the cabbage. Stir in the soy sauce, sesame oil, and ground ginger. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

Serve:

  • Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds, if desired. Serve hot as a main dish or alongside rice.

Notes

You can add additional vegetables like carrots or bell peppers for more color and flavor.
For a spicy kick, drizzle sriracha or another hot sauce over the finished dish.
This recipe can also be made with ground chicken, turkey, or pork for a variation.
